Get swept away at the Morocco Pavilion, a faraway land that is divided into two diverse sections: the Ville Novelle (“ new city”) and the Medina (“old city”). Enjoy authentic Moroccan cuisine at the Tangierine Café, which specializes in chicken, lamb or beef shawarma; or the Restaurant Marrakesh, where you will be entertained by belly dancers.
While in Morocco, don’t miss an opportunity to stroll through the fascinating Gallery of Arts and History and the Fez House. Take home some decorative Rabat carpets, leather sandals, fezzes, brass pots or brass pots at Berber Oasis, The Brass Bazaar, Casablanca Carpets, Medina Arts, Marketplace in the Medina and Tangier Traders, and groove to the tunes of Mo’ Rockin’. In addition, a free, 45-minute tour called The Treasures of Morocco is available for those visitors who would like to learn more about Moroccan culture.
The Morocco Pavilion, which opened at Epcot in 1984, lies in the Northeast section of the World Showcase – between the Japan Pavilion and the France Pavilion. You can’t miss it – just look for the towering Koutoubia Minaret (prayer tower) at the entrance to the pavilion.
