Tom Sawyer Island - Frontierland - Disney's Magic Kingdom Park
Accessible only via rafts that are launched in front of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tom Sawyer Island offers a relaxing escape from bustling Frontierland. Take the motorized raft across the “ Rivers of Adventure” and dock at “Tom’s Landing” to begin your island expedition.
Opened at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park in 1973, this walk-through attraction allows you to explore the island at a leisurely pace, wander through spooky caves, relax on rocking chairs, stroll through wooded trails, cross a unique barrel bridge, view a water wheel in action and travel across a swinging suspension bridge for a visit to Fort Langhorne (named after Samuel Langhorne Clemens).
Tom Sawyer Island is also home to Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn, a quaint eatery that serves fried chicken, sandwiches, ice cream, snacks and cold refreshments. Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn has seasonal hours. Restrooms can be found at Tom’s Landing and inside Fort Langhorne.
Note: Tom Sawyer Island typically opens later than other attractions at Disney’s Magic Kingdom and closes at dusk. In addition, Tom Sawyer Island is not wheelchair accessible.
